Ayokunle, who is the National Vice President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said Baptist Church is a denomination that has touched human lives in different ways, mostly on the human capacity building.

“We have been preaching for peace of the nation, especially on the just concluded election, calling on the electoral umpire to conduct free, fair credible election for the co-existence of peace in the country,” the cleric noted.

He described corruption as a dangerous canker worm that must be stamped out by the incoming administration to achieve much and grow economy of the country.

He advised the newly elected  government to inject into their government new breed politicians and sack the old ones out of government to take the country to a greater height.

The rally of the convention with theme, ‘Moving Forward: Praying and Working for Progress’, attracted thousands of worshippers.

He said the programme is a step to fight hostilities, evil, calamities and difficulties against the children of God.
