The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Thursday announced that 162 Nigerians stranded in Libya have returned to the country of their own volition.

The returnees included 132 men, 27 women and three children. They arrived Nigeria through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, on Thursday.

NEMA also disclosed that among the returnees were two persons who were in urgent need of medical attention and they were immediately taken to hospital for treatment.

The Nigerians’ return was facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration in collaboration with the Swiss government and the Nigerian Embassy in Libya.
